SIZE-ACTUAL SIZE, CD, 1999, AUSTRALIA

On the heels of my posts of two albums by Bradbury (aka Garry Bradbury, former Severed Heads prime mover and all 'round mad hatter), here's his phenomenal late 90's project Size, which ran concurrently with his work on the previous two Bradbury albums that I've shared. Beginning with a beautifully diseased sounding surrealist trudge (the meeting of an Alaskan Polar Bear Heater and some Freshly Wrapped Candies on a dissecting table?), we're soon enough plunged headlong into the terrain so beloved by those of us cognizant of Messr. Bradbury's genius, a universe of acutely precision tooled Rube Goldberg-like sonic architecture; it's piercing wit, pulse pounding rhythm programming and oleaginous and perverted electronic atmospheres directly descended from Severed Heads' prime era.

THANK YOU for everything Bradbury you've posted. After many years of Sev Heads fandom I had no idea how much he was responsible for the sound of my favorite (early) era of their ouevre (Fielding too). Now I understand why the Ellard solo later era stuff was not nearly as exhilarating. You're a gem Eric. I just hope you'll post that Rowenta LP you have up on eBay before you ship it for those of us who can't afford the treasure.

yep bradbury rocks... but i really miss some of the analogue weirdness of early s.h. fame... sounds and song structure, all is very well but overall it sounds a bit to clean for my ears to give it 10 points... so only 9 points out of 10

Bradbury does rock and is someone very dear to my heart...
if you feel so inclined buy this lovely mans music and help put a pint on his table.

i'm pretty certain this came out in 1997 on the now defunct zonar label, and the cover is completely wrong but way better than the original.

As a huge Severed Heads fan I always wondered what happened to Bradbury. Soon I'll know. Thanks for the posting and the terrific site. Long may you reign!

Thanks for the posts, I just discovered these tracks a little while ago and they are great! I am going to purchase the albums. Are there are other Bradbury-related works you recommend?
