Seesselberg - Synthetik 1 ,LP,1973,Germany

Perhaps an early Konrad Schnitzler album in disguise? From all the random oscillations, squirly modular synth spirals and strange spacious effects, one could easily see this 1973 experimental electronics album as one tape in Schnitzler's vast catalog of studio trickery. There are nine tracks here of cold inhuman synthetics, and where one ends and another begins can only be ascertained by sheer persistence. Like Schnitzler, there are moments of quieter reflection, the sort of music one might find in a 60s B-movie sci-fi flick, where studio musicians reflect the vastness of space with proto-modulars and theremin tweaking. Not a melody to be found in sight, although there are plenty of abstract visions of sattelite orbitals, distant supernovas, radar pings, alien spacecraft and the like. Overall, it's kind of a neat album, especially considering most of Schnitzler's experiments that are similar were recorded later (a strong example is 1988's Constellations). But, considering its rarity, it's unlikely to be anything more than a serious collector's item for the abstractly inclined.

Thank you for this audio masterpiece. Reminds me of the buetiful unearthly sounds from the sci-fi movie classic FORBIDDEN PLANET. This will go great playing a computer wargame of WARHAMMER 40k DAWN OF WAR or exploring some dank dark dungeon crypt in the rpg game OBLIVION.

Thanks :)

Well hello again
i downloaded this yesterday and i've listened just now. One of my favourite blog from one year old was this guy : http://insectandindividual.blogspot.com/ seeselberg .this same record on his page but nothing since 6 months ... do you know him? what happened? are you talking to other guy like him? are you reclusive? how and when it happenned you get involved in those "mutant music" you offer? "mutant" what a wonderful word! perfect! how old are you? i think Throbbing Gristle "TG NOW" 12" is IncreDibLe! what do you think? Did you hear it? How are you listening music with your friends? don't you think it's the most difficult but also the most pleasant way to listening to some music? I mean : with a good friend? i'm listening again to seesselberg right now . what fantatic music it is!! thank you for it. I really love your selection. By the way do you remember Selektion, this german label whith P16D4 and so on???? really good music from them i think. well i think i'm too long.
